Goodbye to the Gelato Shop

... 3 flavours to one styrofoam package...
2 flavours if you buy the small size
4 flavors for large -- which we have never allowed ourselves
This pictures no where approxi-
mates the joy we have been having at the gelato shop.

The best flavours are any of the chocolate flavours (mouse / chocolate with dulche de leche), cookies and cream (really marbled caramel), amaretto, strawberry, Americano -- oh they are all good.  Perhaps the lemon wasn't fruity enough and was too strong, but it is all a matter of taste.

We have no idea why we had to take the styrofoam containers home and clean them out.  We haven't used this much styrofoam in years at home.

Wyona wanted to shake the hand of the clerks who have served us tonight when we left.  I thought we should wait until we really leave on the boat on Monday.

  1. I just spent my lunch hour catching up on your blog posts. So far I have not reached the beginning of the trip so there is more to read. I shall return and read more this weekend. Fantastic stories from a city that sounds peaceful and welcoming. Adding it to my travel wish list! Enjoy the boat!

  2. Hi from Wyona,

We are in Lethbridge. Well, not really. We are in Peurto Madryn, except there are penguins, small lamas, elephant seals and sea lions. But it is the landscape that is amusing us. Just like Lethbridge. The wind. The sun. The dry earth. Who would have guessed?

  3. I can hardly fathom seeing all those animals and not being in a zoo at the same time.

  4. I remember my first taste of gelato. I was 18 years old. I was in Italy with Rebecca. She said we were going to buy some Italian Icecream. We paid and were handed these tiny tiny cones with a tiny scoop of gelato on top.

Before we tasted them, we took time to complain to each other about the size of our servings. We felt very ripped off and thought how much luckier people were in Canada at the size of cone you receive there.

Then, there was that first lick. Our eyes grew big. The intense flavor was amazing. I think Rebecca may have chosen Hazelnut. Is that right, Rebecca? Our conversation turned to envy and plotting our next flavor for tomorrow.
