Here's a photo of the Camps-Johnson, Carter and Johnson kids swimming in the lake. From left to right, Meighan, David, Alex, Dalton, Duncan and Ceilidh.Maybe it's just my old age, but the water seemed warmer that is usual for this time of the year. This is, of course, taken before Dalton broke his arm and was thus unable to get all the way into the lake.
Dalton reports that his cast is coming off this weekend. Considering it is the August long-weekend, and the hospital is usually inundated with drunken accident victims, we may wait to have it cast removed until after the weekend passes.
Oh boy!

Thanks for identifying all of the kids in the picture, for it could be any number of the iterations who swim there.
I was noticing last week that Meighan and Naomi are strong enough to start swimming without their life-jackets. True to form for 5 year olds.
Both of them spend more time under the water than on top of it.
Meighan was running up and down the ramp searching for her goggles. Moiya told her that they were sitting on top of her head, so that ended the search for the missing eyewear.
Now Ivan and Senya Bates (Jamie and Trent) have joined the fun, along with Marcia and Art's kids.
I know the kids needs a snack some afternoons, but I don't have a couple of trays of cinammon buns in me when the heat is so strong in the kitchen. Still, I knew there would be some takers if I just took down a loaf of home-made brown bread and let people rip off a piece as they got hungry.
I really laughed when Gabe asked me if I would bring down a loaf the next day as well. All of that sun and water fool the taste buds into thinking brown bread is delicious.

ReplyDeleteRebecca took the first loaf ever (at least every for this year) down to the beach, to the spot where the Little Canadian Stream runs. The kids have been redirecting the stream, making waterfalls, filling some of the pools with coloured rocks ... thus we have a white pool and a red pool, etc.
Rebecca DID take honey. She sat them down and let the kids tear off pieces of bread and then drizzled the honey over it. They were in heaven.
They have asked since, "Is there honey, today?"
I never have honey in the bag for them.
This is what always makes me the #2 grandmother / caregiver / aunt. There are others who are always out performing me.
