Hello,
For those of you getting tickets for the first of the Ring Cycle Wagnerian operas at your local HD Theatres, the first performance Oct 9th, here are 2 reviews and Wickipedia's info on Das Rheingold.
Glen and Janet are going to be in Calgary for Thanksgiving, so I am picking up tickets for them tomorrow.
Why not!
Enjoy, at the very least, the reviews.
I can hardly wait.

Looks like we are only getting three of the operas here in Winnipeg. Those prices are pretty expensive for a student too. Perhaps I shall pick the best one or two, go and be happy even if I missed the others. Enjoy the performance on Saturday!
ReplyDeleteTonia?
ReplyDeleteThe UofC has opened up all of the seating for events presented by the Department of Music and the Department of Drama to students with valid ID cards.
How sweet do you think that is, since it probably represents over 20 concernts that are usually $25 for regular seating?
I agree the opera prices are expensive for students. Seniors and students get $5 off of the regular price, but even the cost of that reduced price is the same as the price of one 40 pound bag of basmati rice, which will take a student through a lot of lean days.
Buy rice.
Save the opera for when you graduate.
Or, as we used to do last year, go when people would slip us tickets they can't use.
In the old days, we were never without a performance to go to, were we?
