Reading

Xavier's morning piece of Grandpa's 80th Birthday Chocolate Cake
I tried get out of bed in the morning, before Xavier gets up.

Obviously, I am going to have to set an alarm to do that.

He was already having breakfast ... on the couch ... playing his DS with the spoon so that he wouldn’t have to change instruments between tapping the screen of his DS and eating his chocolate cake for breakfast when I got up.

"Chocolate cake for breakfast?"

He smiled.

Mary had picked out possible books for us to read together: The Brothers Grimm, The Lightening Thief and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

He choose the latter, which I can’t say I am enjoying all that much.

The 4 grandparents in the story are 90 years old, wrinkled, stay in bed all day, wear nightcaps to keep their heads warm and only brighten up to the day when Charlie comes to their common bedroom and they can tell him their stories from the past.

  1. I like it that the grandparents get to stay in bed in the morning, especially because that means they get to stay up at night.
