This is fun -- an interview with the 3 actors who play the sisters in Lear.
I am going to see if I can make it to my local theatre that night.

I pre-bought the tickets, and am taking Alex with me tomorrow night...
ReplyDeletego to the encore at the end of the month and let me know what you think! I thought it was pretty awesome. the fool was amazing...
ReplyDeleteI did all of the preparation to go to King Lear. I read the synopsis of the play on Wiki. I studied the famous painting there that celebrate the play. I read about other iterations of this theme. And as for this production, I learned about Edgar, Edmond, refreshed my mind about the Fool, about the 3 sisters, about Cornall, etc. With a pen and paper I was mapping out relationships so they would be clear to me. And I watched the 2 one-half hour interviews with the actors the links to which are on the blog. I read Freud's analysis of the play. The Christian analysis.I was prepared. I just didn't get there.
ReplyDeleteI will get back to you on this theme after I have seen the play at the end of the month. National Theatre Live in a theatre near you. A treasure.
Thank you Arta for choosing Shrek over King Lear. Alex would do the same I think.
