From Wyona
Just a quick note from London. As most of you know by now, Greg and I picked up an extra companion the night before we left for London. Zach chose to come with us to London but Marcia had to commit to flying to London next Thursday for the weekend and fly back home with him the following Monday. So Greg and I met Zach and Art at the airport at 4 p.m. and we were off.
While we were waiting at the gate to board, Zach bought himself dinner at A & W. At 10 p.m. Zach told me he was feeling sick and he already had a barf bag in front of him. Yup! A&W, grapes, chocolate all ended up in the bag. I pushed the call button and the stewardess was there in no time, giving Zach a cold compress for the back of his neck, returning again with more barf bags, some plastic bags, cloth to wipe his face and a second stewardess in tow. I was sitting in the middle of three seats with Greg and Zach sitting in the aisles. The stewardess needed Zach’s boarding pass which was in his back pack in the overhead. Both women were so short they could not reach into the overhead so Greg went around the plane to retrieve Zach’s boarding pass. The good thing is there was no more food for Zach, only ice to suck for the duration of the plane trip.
Greg and I had pushed our trip to London up three days to accommodate Nathaniel and a couple of Chelsea’s friends at our house for the weekend for a YSA Conference. So I had booked a hotel for 3 days, the cheapest twin room I could find on booking.com with an elevator. The room being so small Zach could not fit in with us so I booked a second single room at a hotel close by for Greg which Marcia and Art are paying for. Greg escorted Zach and I to our hotel, we unpacked while Greg checked into his hotel and then he returned for us. We rushed to the tube and headed for Trafalgar where we were meeting Judi and Joel for dinner. While Judi and I went to buy burner phones, Greg and Zach headed to Trafalgar for a little history lesson.
A burner phone for one month was fifteen pounds, 5000 messages and 500 minutes of time in the UK. That means I have to write 333.33 messages a day for the 15 days before the cruise so that I can get my money’s worth. What was wrong with us Moiya that we did not buy burner phones in June when we were here. We will have to come back Moiya and do it right. Anyone else coming?
Zach kept looking into his phone while I was trying to engage him. I finally told him to put that phone away, but he replied he could not because he was finding Pokémon because Gabe told him to do that. So I figured out that one has to be stationary to talk to Zach without the Pokémon interfering. We hit the top deck of the bus on the way home from Trafalgar, and got the front seats a few stops into the trip. It was an amazing night view of London so Zach was ‘awing’ a few times. We drove by Trafalgar Square and up Regents Street. Piccadilly Circus was crowded and always an extraordinary sight first time round.
We did have such good times here with most of you when we lived here!
Always worried about waking up at 3 a.m. I kept myself awake until 9:30 p.m. last night. Zach hit the pillow five minutes after getting back to the room at 7:10 p.m. Woke up numerous times in the night. At 1:30 a.m. Zach was awake also, he asked me why my CPap machine was not on. Maybe that is why I was awake so often. Just woke Zach up now as Greg telephoned.
Now I have to hurry to have breakfast and go to pick up tickets for 42nd Street, hit Covent Garden, Portabello Market for schnitzel back for a nap before the show. Such Fun!!!

WHICH show are you going to?
ReplyDeleteHa ha from Arta to that question. I am sure they (Wyona and Zach) have seen 42nd Street. How many times Wyona will see this show may well surpass the number of times she has seen Billie Elliott. In another email she told me that the number that opens the show is well worth the price of the whole ticket. I will see if I can post that email tomorrow.
