Falling Branches

Greg and Wyona have an overload of cherries on their unpruned cherry trees.

The branches shoot upward and are loaded with cherries of every colour some of which only need to continue to ripen.

The ones that are ready to eat are falling to the ground at a touch.

and do indigenous hoop dancing at the same time.

Bonnie and I were offered a branch of cherries each.

And some to take home.

Greg took a long clipper and cut off a branch for each of us.

Bonnie stood under the tree to catch the whole thing so that the cherries didn’t hit the ground and pop off onto the grass.

So yesterday was the first time I have ever had a branch of cherries in my lap and finished it off in one sitting.

Delicious – every colour.
