Step one, weed the garden and put weeds in the wheelbarrow.
Step two, take weeds to compost spot under old trampoline tarp.
Step three, lift up tarp.
Step four, squeal with joy when you see a snake curled up. Take photographic evidence before you try to catch it.

Step five: try to catch snake and be surprised when you do. Excitedly show everyone your new friend.
Step six: spend a half an hour hanging out with your snake friend who is cold and happy to just curl up on your warm hands and rest.
Step seven: with a little sadness, return snake to spot beside weed pile and trampoline tarp and hope your paths cross again next time you do some gardening and have weeds to deliver to the pile.
