Moiya called Richard’s bishop, Doug Clark, who told her that Richard was loved by the ward members and that he will be missed.
Tuesday, Richard had gone to the library to get an obituary for a ward member. He was walking home and it was a humid day. He fell and may have hit his head on a park bench for there was bruising on his nose.
People called 911. Richard did not respond to CPR. The ambulance people knew Richard for they had been to his apartment complex before.
The bishop said he did not think it was a heart by-pass that Richard had in the Fall of 2009, but an operation where balloons are inserted in the arteries to open them up. It would appear now, he says, that on Tuesday, Richard had a massive heart attack.
In his will, Richard has donated his organs, so his body was not in the funeral home, as of the call Moiya made to the bishop.
As well, Richard had specified in his will that he wanted an inexpensive funeral and any money he has to go to the LDS church perpetual education fund.
That generous act sounds very much like him.
