The five of us headed off to hear the lecture on which
tours are available once we get to
Eygypt: desert tours, aerial view tours, sight–seeing tours, overnight tours,
water and beach tours, and pyramid tours.
This is where the five of us discover our different interests and
abilities. Greg is going to a tour that
visits the military museum at El Alamein: displays of weapons, military garb,
tanks and descriptions of the actions of Montgomery and Rommel. Who would have
guessed? Dave and I teamed up for the
Spirit of the Middle East Package – save $75 and someone else has created a
shore excursion package for you. Moiya
and Wyona are going to select a few tours to do on their own – but not the
full-meal deal.
Should you want to imaginatively follow Dave and me
... here goes:
Alexandria, Day I: Cairo, Pyramids & Tombs –
includes Necropolis of Sakkara, the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx
Alexandria, Day 2: Landmarks of Alexandria – see the
famous library at Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
Safaga, Day 1; Luxor
Valley of the Kings – some of the greatest monuments raised by the hand
of man and the underground tombs of pharaohs, who ruled 3,000 years ago.
Safaga, Day 2: The Bedouin Experience
Aqaba: Petra, The Rose Red Desert City, famously
described as ‘the Rose-Red City half as old as time’ –UNESCO World Heritage
Site
The best thing about being with Dave – both in the
balcony suite on the boat and on tour with him is this – he will be making sure
all of my “on” and “off” buttons in our shared suite work. How sweet is that.
