I swear I can smell fresh bread when I see this photo

"Thank goodness for the Bosch."

If you weren't at the Lake, I bet you wish you had been.

  1. 2012 was the year to have been at the lake for the pig roast.

Moiya met Jay and Joyce Johnson at a wedding in southern Alberta on the week-end and Jay said he would like to return for the pig roast this year. She had to tell him that the hosts of the pig roast, Miranda and Richard, are having a new baby that month and so the pig roast is temporarily suspended ... not enough time to bring a new baby into the family and entertain as well.

  2. I was at the Lake on the day of the picture above and was a very grateful recipient of a few slices of that yummy bread! Thanks for sharing!

  3. It is hard to capture the smell of that bread. Maybe taking it out of the oven and running it outside quickly in the winter to get the steam coming off one of the loaves. That may begin to capture the smell. So delicious!

  4. Great idea from someone with a photographer's eye. Yes to the steam letting people know there may be smell involved. And this will work in the winter. But what to do mid-summer when it is probably hotter outside than the bread is.

And now a tip about bread making. Not one that is useful, but I could never figure out what I can't fail with the bread in B.C. Perfect every time. Then demonstrator said that humidity is a factor as the bread is rising. Disappointing to me to know the perfect bread has little to do with me, and a lot to do with living close to the water.
