Are you a night owl or a morning lark? This is a question I heard as a teen. I guess, which ever answer you give, being both is not wise.
Mati, Sumin, and Sumarga have me the book, "Why We Sleep" by Matthew Walker. My biggest take home point from the book is, "don't cheat yourself out of the most inexpensive, health-promoting part of your life that you cannot buy, steal, or borrow: sleep."
Now, to put the advice into action...zzzz.

My first knitting project of 2019 completed. |
I am really curious about your knitting project. What is it? A hat? A tea cosy? Or is it just an owl? Is it utilitarian or decorative?
ReplyDeleteIt is functional. It is a homemade scratch pad for doing dishes. I needed a project I could complete. I had been trying to make mittens for Hebe's American doll as a surprise for her ... but how hard it is to knit a tiny object has been a surprise for me.
ReplyDeleteI knit Barbie doll clothes for Rebecca's Barbie doll when she was about 4 years old: a coat, a dress, a skirt. I went all out, knitting into the late hours of the night before Xmas. I don't think Rebecca liked them that much. But I like trying to knit. You are right. Small items are very hard. Hebe's dolls are well outfitted. They probably have more changes of clothing than you do. But I bet they don't have mittens knitted by a Canadian aunt in B.C.
ReplyDeleteI bet Rebecca would cherish those doll clothes now, and put them on one of her bookshelves at work.
DeleteI am not sure how my scrubby works. I was hoping to lure David into using it. His reaction was to scream when he saw it by the dish soap and tell me how freaky it looked. LOL.
Just one more thing. Miranda sewed a coat for Alice's dolls. I think it was probably as hard as sewing a coat for an adult. Just the sizes are different. You still have to put in the arms, etc. All of it, a lot of work in the hopes that the girls will have fun playing dolls.
ReplyDeleteYes, the gifts that probably will mean far more to the giver than the receiver.
DeleteIf people don't like your gift, you should always be ready to take it back and use it yourself, which axiom, if followed would make it utmost in my mind to buy something that i would like to have returned to me.
DeleteAnd oh yes, how does the scratch pad work. Well? When I saw it at first it looked like it was an owl that had spider's in its eyes.
ReplyDeleteI did go a little overboard on the satin stitch for the pupils.
DeleteIf you can do satin stitch you are ready for the next project.
