Started looking for places in France

So I have started the process of putting our house up for rent for the 2011 - 2012 academic year and put in an initial search in Sabbaticalhomes.com. We are looking to move to France for Rebecca's sabbatical year and being a type A, I thought there was no time like the present to get started. We are looking at Paris or the south of France. It would be great if we could swap a house, but it will probably end up with a rental for both.

On another note, Rebecca is currently in Spain teaching for two weeks. This weekend she is off to Barcelona with her friend from Quebec City so I hope she can avoid being hit by any street cars (ala Gaudi) and can survive things being shutdown between one and five.

  2. Tell her she has to go see the La Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's church that is not complete but will hold 1,200 singers in the choir loft when done and constructed to look like a forest inside the nave. Museum Nacional D'art de Catalunya is also a beautiful introduction to Modernism and the Gothic art curators rescued (well took) from small churches around the country, and it is astounding. The Museum do Ceramica is a must for any clay lover, where she will be taken in a voyage of the history of ceramics in Spain and the Catalan area. Seeing the houses that Gaudi and other modernism artists built is architecturally awe-inspiring and incredibly unique (La Pedrera etc). At the Picasso Museum there is a racy smaller exhibit about erotica in Picasso's day, in particular the influence of Japanese erotica on the Spanish masters. Ahhh Barcelona!! Steve, she may never come home :)
