Giant Cedars and Skunk Cabbage Nature Trail (in Times Past)

As part of the No 51st State response, Mark Carey declared that all the public parks would be free this year.

So, Richard stopped at Giant Cedars twice this month (once bring Michael and Alice out, and once taking Betty back).  He noted that only about a third of the pathways were still open.  We talked about the politics of parks, as well as the costs of upkeep and maintenance.

And so it was fun going through Arta's old photo albums, and coming across evidence of a trip she took with the young cousins out to Giant Cedars, back in the early to mid 90s.   Here are some of the photos!

  1. Skunk Cabbage Trail remains one of my favorite stops on the trip to and from the lake.
