Looking through Arta's scrapbook, I was struck by the number of "tiny" photos. They reminded me of the tiny photos I saw in Doral Pilling's "box of precious photos". I really hadn't seen this 'film strip' style of tiny photos before. I was used to seeing this with 'negatives', but not in print form. Cool.
I found that I could actually 'see' the photos better if I used my camera to get a closeup. And so, here are some closeups of these tiny photos. I presume they are Arta.
There were more tiny pictures on another page, this time referring to Arta's 8th birthday, and capturing tiny photos of new dolls!
Here is a further closeup of the bottom right, telling us we are in March 1948.
I am not sure who "Lorna" is in these photos. Is she one of the Reid children? Or a Scoville relative? I finally ask Wyona if she knows. She does. She recognizes the girl in the photo as Arta's good Lorna Hughes. Lorna lived in a big house on a steep hill on15th st south of 11th avenue. Wyona says that the house is still there.
Arta has Wyona and Bonnie on either side of her. I am not sure who the boy is (I would expect it to be Earl, but he doesn't look like Earl to me in this photo).
I like how Arta's doll in these photos matches her hair (dark), while it looks like both Lorna and her doll are blonde.
Not sure Lorna is one of the Reid children. The Reid children were born in 1951, 1952 and 1956 (from their headstone which we saw in Calgary recently) Wonder if it is a Scoville Cousin?
