The Battle

As we left Calgary to come back to the Shuswap Duncan knocked on Richard's back door to say good-bye.

No one was home, but sitting in Miranda's garden boxes were the boiled skulls from Richard's fall hunting trips.

"What is this?"

"Can I touch it?"

"Wanna have a fight dad?"

 And so the battle began.

In too short a time the horns were locked, the opponents brought to their knees and the battle was over.

We were on our way back to B.C. with only the golden memories of a beached skull from the visit to Richard's and Miranda's.

  1. I still maintain that there are cattle bones in the manure pile beside David and Moiya's house. I will try to get some photographic evidence.
