Our second round was tonight. It was so good that I'm wanting to skip round 3. I don't see how they can get better then perfect. Miranda went into the "lottery" with her mom. Apparently you can sign up for the daily "lottery" and get tickets for 25 bucks. Miranda's parents won that lottery. So we all went together today. We spent $150 a ticket. Miranda's parents got the same seats for 25 bucks a piece.
I'm a little miffed that they get to go to a perfect performance of the best musical I've seen, sitting in second row, for only 25 bucks each... nothing's perfect.
And how do you sign up for the lottery? Inquiring minds will want to know.
ReplyDeleteAnd what were your favorite lines? Toss. Toss.
Could the person beside you hear you humming along?

Do you know when it will be coming to Sicamous?
ReplyDeleteNow I know how to get into the lottery. Two hours before every performance, the Jubilee opens its front doors and you allowed to put your name into a bin from which they will pull an allotted number of entries. If you win, you can have one or two tickets, depending on the number you asked for, and you have to show picture ID that proves you are the person whose name is on the entry and then you pay $25 each for seats in the orchestra. The tickets we used to get in London were 25 pounds each, so this is a real deal!
ReplyDeleteAmir and I tried our hand at the lottery tonight.
No, we did not win, but just about everyone else in the crowd did win for it was a very small group there.
I am going to try again tomorrow, both for the matinee and for the evening performance: 2 pm and 7:30 pm. Judge yourself accordingly by subtracting 2 hours if you want to get into the lottery.
Re Bonnie's question about when events like Wicked will be coming to Sicamous ... well, Sicamous is small, but Salmon Arm is bigger and I am counting on seeing every HD Live performance that London, New York and Los Angeles have to offer when they come to Salmon Arm and I am retired there for good.
ReplyDeleteAmir and I are the winners of the lottery competition for the matinee performance of Wicked today: four tickets in all. Ceilidh, Dalton and Meighan were the lucky ones to attend from our family. I was the lucky one to hear their report. Everything in this show was as it should be. The roar of the dragon and the smoke coming out of his mouth is frightening as an opener. Siglinda still comes down from the heavens in her bubble. The monkeys sprout wings. Every move that Elphaba makes to create good in the world, turns into chaos, or at the very least is misunderstood. The animals loose their ability to speak and that is very BAAAAA..(d).
ReplyDeleteI went over to try for the lottery again tonight to see if I could pick up tickets for the evenig performance. Twenty more tickets were drawn and only 25 people were there -- which makes the odds really good for getting a ticket.
Those odds weren't in my favour. I came away empty handed, but still happy -- part of the fun is the process.
