An Ancient Pilling Joke

I was updating my address book, especially because I am 2 addresses behind on the places where Trent has lived.  On seeing his address I was reminded of an old joke of Dorals.  If you were raised by him, please move away from this post to another, as you will have heard the joke so many times that you will not care to hear it again.

To set up the joke, the address that reminded me of the it is Trent's address:

Trent and Jamie Bates
1200 Ivy Bridge Drive
Pflugerville, TX 78660

The joke goes like this and is usually done on a grade 2 or 3 or 4 student when they are doing their spelling homework:

Jokester: Can you spell swimming?   It is a hard word to spell.
Child: Yes I can spell that.  s-w-i-m-m-i-n-g.
Jokester: That is wrong.
Child: (quizzical) Is it s-w-i-m-i-n-g.
Jokester: No.
(After many tries the child says, How do you do it then?)
Jokester: p-s-w-i-m-m-i-n-g.
Child:  That is not how you spell it. There is no p in swimming.
Jokester: Yes, there is.  The p is always silent in swimming.

Now if you look back at Trent's address, you will always be able to remember the name of the ville in Texas where he lives.  The P is always silent.
