Vigilant.
The captain tells us to maintain good health on board by washing our hands with soap and warm water for 20 seconds. He says this every day, as does the cruise director. There has been more than the usual number of outbreaks of sickness on board. We are served now from the buffet. Even coffee is served to us ... at least to others. The waiter brings us the bread now – no more breadbaskets on the table, no more whipped butter, fine hummus, soft cream cheese. Everything delivered by plastic gloves or tongs that no other human being has touched.
The singers and dancers are kept down on floors 1 and 2.
Some of the entertainers are already sick and they don’t want any more shows cancelled.
We are lucky. We stay well.
