The Creche on our Mantel

... I just want a little closer look ...

Hebe pulled up a chair to take a better look at the crèches.

"I'll be weally weally careful."

The glass is fragile.

  1. Is the creche glass, or does Hebe only think it is glass?

It is new to me. Where did you get it?

  2. I will be weally weally careful as well.

  3. Do you have a creche up yet, David?

I think you should put one up at both houses: your mom's and your dad's. That would be double Christmas-ey.

Try to find two in my basement. If that doesn't work out, try a Dollar Store. Or ... go over to Aunt Wyona's. I bet she has extra. Each figure is at least 12 inches tall. And she is out looking for all of the animals to go with the scene that she got from the Phillipines.

That reminds me. Remember when we were in Catalonia and your cousins had a creche so large that it took up the whole veranda. I think it had a whole village attached, including women dancing around fires and people getting water from wells, and the wise men on their camels coming to Bethlehem along the side of a mountain. Now that was a creche!

I always regret not getting one of those Spanish ones. That culture really knows how to do Christmas!
