Greg and Wyona to Austin Texas

Before we left at the end of February for Austin, we were lucky enough to have Moiya and Dave over for dinner. On the way to our house, Dave took Kelvin shopping and then to London Drugs where Kelvin ended up tripping over a carpet and doing a face plant on the floor in London Drugs. That way Kelvin secured himself an invitation to our house for dinner because he could not be left alone for four hours; instructions from the paramedics! This picture does not do justice to the way Kelvin looked. Happy 80th Birthday Kelvin!

On our way to Austin we dropped into Manhatten for two nights. The last time I remember being there was in 1969.

Online, when I booked our hotel three blocks from Penn Station, there was a message that came up saying, “Congradulations, you just booked the cheapest room at the Hilton!” However, we arrived about 11 p.m. at the hotel, the clerk looked at us and said I don’t think you will like the room you have because the bathroom is small so would you mind changing to the disabled room on the thirtieth floor. Much better room for the cheapest price! Our view across and then down was spectacular.

Two nights in Manhatten and two broadway shows on Saturday, Chicago and Mary Poppins and we were on our way using the light rail to get to Bayonne from where our 12 day cruise sailed away. Greg us featured here on the light rail on our way to Bayonne.

  1. Hello,

I can feel a touch of vertigo acting up when I look at your picture from the 30th floor of the the hotel. Nice pictures. And may I ask, where are the rest of the people on the light rail. Were you travelling first class? Did you have the car to yourselves?

  2. No, just one class on the light rail but it was Sunday morning and everyone else was home in bed.

  3. That looks like Greg on the Underground in London. Ah, London. Will always be my favourite big city. Sorry New York, you are just too young.
