The Quietest New Years Ever

... Kelvin and Pouria, bringing in the New Year ...
Pouria and I could see that the New Year would slip in without any celebration unless the two of us cooperated to make a feast fit for the last good-bye to 2013.

... thank you Coop for the $4 off coupon ...
Coupons to the Coop helped a great deal.

If you can buy the pork ribs already cooked and in a sauce, and all you have to do is warm up the contents of the package, then the dinner is almost done.

... fried potatoes and brown rice ...
Pouria added an Iranian dish – deep-fried slices of potato, strands of saffron and brown rice on top of the potatoes.

I can put together a Greek salad in quick order.

He knew to leave the oil off of the dressing in the salad, since there was enough oil, health wise for us, in the rice/potato dish.

How much fun is that to cook with someone who has our collective good health in mind.

... a quick Greek salad ...
Our entertainment for the evening was the Canadian Air Farce 2013.

I spent my time either gasping or laughing.

Those Canadian satire writers are irreverent!

At least about politics.

... decorate the table to bring in 2014 ...
And now from our house to yours, Happy New Year.
