The Owl Aviary -- Barn Owls

At the Birds of Prey Centre in Coldale Alberta you can hold owls.  Yes, it is amzing.  You have to wear a mask.  This is to protect the staff who are working with the owls and working with you to get them perched on your hand.

A highlight of the trip for sure.

These are photos of the Barn Owl.  They are not Alberta owls -- you can tell because they don't have any feathers that come down to protect their legs. You can find them in Ontario and BC but Alberta is to cold for them to overwinter.
