Country Seed Bread


Country Seed Bread – This is 6 times the recipe -  makes 6 loaves

12 c.                   All Purpose Flour
 6 c.                    Whole Wheat Flour
1 ½ c.                 Flax Seed  (some of this is crushed up)
 ¾ c.                   Sesame Seeds
 6 Tblsp.            Poppy Seeds
 ¼ c.                   Dry Yeast
 9 ½ c.                Warm Water
 ¾ c.                   Liquid Honey
 ¾ c.                   Vegetable Oil
 3 Tblsp.            Salt

1.      Put water, honey, and yeast into mixer and let stand until the yeast is working
2.      Add the rest of the ingredients and mix.
3.      Let rise for about 1 ¼ hours
4.      Divide into 6 loaves and form into a loaf.
5.      Put into a pan that has been greased with shortening or lard.
5.      Let rise
6.      Bake at 350 degrees for 40- 45 minutes.

  1. This is one of my favourite recipes. Just a hint about the shortening or lard, though bakers might already know about this. Your bread will drop out of the pan if you have greased it with shortening or lard. No more sticking of the bread to the pan. I keep lard in my fridge, just for this purpose.
