Bowling

From Catherine:

Ped day with Hebe.

Had a fun time bowling with a friend from school.

Love the variety of our bowling shoes.

Hebe's friend declared her score a world record.

We all laughed at her enthusiasm at bowling her best score ever - -61.
... me and my friends ...

The simple joys.

.... the best score ever ...

  1. I was reminded of the simple pleasures myself today. Not that anything can beat a grand bowling score of 61. But I was asking Pouria what he thinks his parents are going to enjoy about Calgary when they come for a visit in July from Iran. I was thinking about Calgary's beautiful parks, about the Stampede, about the proximity of the mountains, etc.

He told me he thinks their biggest amazement will be the clean air and the pure water.

Yes. Sometimes I need to be reminded.

  2. David said the person on the far right looks like me.
His best score in Bowling was 100.
    He won a trophy.
It was at the Deo Lutheran church party.

  3. When I was a teen-ager my best friend's father managed a bowling alley. On days when bowling was slow, we were allowed to use one of the alleys. One of us would set the pins and then the 2 others would bowl. We would grade off until everyone had set the pins. You had to be careful in 2 ways. First you had to put the pins on the right spot -- EXACTLY, or when they did their turn they wouldn't get a strike.

The second thing was to set the pins in the right place and then get out of the way before the bowler let that ball loose. I bet your alley is automated now. Too bad about progress.
