Down, down, down

... Betty in a happier after moment ...
Betty ran down the incline the leads to the sidewalk in her front yard.  Betty had her hands in her pocket.  She did a face plant on the cement sidewalk.  Betty told me at supper that she screamed, that she had a nose bleed, that there was lots of blood, that she cried and then she gave me a close up of her nose.  There is an abrasion about half way up it and a bruise starting on the left hand side of her face which may or may not turn into a black eyes.

As well ...

While on a skiing trip in Kelowna, Laynie Hicks fell when she was tripped by a bag that lay on the floor between her and the microwave she was headed toward in a ski lodge.  She broke her wrist.

Glen was helping Piper off of the ski lift and somehow got slammed into an abutment.  He has a separated shoulder.

Tonia slipped in our back yard in the dark, on some ice and went down yesterday when she was coming to collect Chinese painting of horses -- a famous image someone told me.  The picture is going to her house.  She reported that she came out unscathed.

Joan Turnbull, Richard's mother-in-law, slipped this morning while running her dog in the dog park.  She has a broken foot and must be off of it from 6 to 8 weeks.

In the autumn, Michael broke his arm.

Now it is winter.

Stay safe everyone else.

  1. And how are you doing with winter in Quebec. We don't have that ice that you have. Nor the rain one day and snow the next day. We go straight to winter, but it really hasn't arrived here yet. The temperature is mild and while there are icy patches, there is no snow.

Still, Joan with a broken foot. Glen with a separate shoulder. Laynie with a broken wrist.

Yes. Welcome to Canadian winter. It is cold and icy with snow and without.
