Last night I tried to make a list of the highlights of my life from 2018.
I got lost in the minutiae of the days and months and could never get to writing about top 10 events of 2018. |

So late at night when Catie and I had tucked ourselves into bed, we started to make that list off of the top of our heads for her. I could almost do hers on my own: her mission call, graduating from school, going to Europe in the summer with her whole family, going to New York with Catherine and Eric ....
Between the two of us the list was created in minutes. I could only think of the top 10 moments of the day that I was still in, the last day of 2018.
Here it is -- highlight of only one day

2. seeing The Crimes of Grindelwald with Xavier, Naomi, Rhiannon, Catherine, Thomas, Rebecca and Hebe
3. walking 5,000 steps on Montreal’s high street, Monkland
5. taste-testing creamy and raspberry honey, Quebec butter and Philadephia cream cheese on the above
6. tying back in braids the magnificent locks of Xavier, Naomi, Rebecca and Hebe into braids
7. laughing until my stomach ached with all of the jumping-out-at people-to-scare-them tales of Mary.
8. the wind on my hair from the speed of the subway moving toward the stop at Villa Maria, not to be outdone by jumping out of the metro and crossing over at L’Hionel Greux

9. Hebe’s Caroline All American Doll getting changed out of her period dress and into her poodle skirt and the doll and then that doll being present as Hebe played on her electronic devices during the day.
10. a midnight toast in long stemmed wine glasses from all of us to the last of day of 2018 and the beginning of 2019
