I made it to The Metropolitan Opera HD to hear La Fille du Régmiment.
Pretty Yende has a voice that soars and Javier Camarena sang his songs with the high C's twice. Stunning!
The comedic part of the opera is so much fun. I see it in the costuming and in the choreography and even in the staging -- so funny to see maps of the Pyrannes built up into montains that they stand on, and even slipping over the front of the stage.
Opera. Who doesn't love it!
