Pouria: I have something else to show you David. |
Pouria selects them by looking at the colour – the deep red, the better.
The handout suggests that the outside of a ripe pomegranate can vary from light pink to a deep ruby red. They say that the key is selecting a good fruit is “the heavier the better”.
David: Just one more seed into my mouth |
As our contest was coming to a close, Pouria told David that there is one more thing you can do with pomegranate arils – use them like a little pea between your fingers and shoot them in different directions.
They went to the front room where Bonnie set up a long clear path for them to practise.
Pouria: Here is what you do with your fingers. |
He showed David perfect technique.
David’s fingers don’t have the same flexibility. But he tried his best to pick up the new skill.
David: My fingers are having a hard time getting into position. |
