Canada Day Specials

... Moiya receiving the first order of the day ...
As I heard the story, Wyona and Moiya stopped in for lunch at the Dairy Queen on Canada Day.

There was a special.

The Canada Day Special.

Well, there was more than one special but most people were dropping in for $4.00 off on a Dairy Queen Canada cake.
... looks good to me ...
... maybe next year? ...
But they ordered off the menu and one was a Canada Day Blizzard -- with a Maple Leaf and sprinkles on top.

"Unfortunately," said the clerk, "the sprinkles and maple leaf didn't arrive.  You will only get the ice cream sandwich on top and an extra dollop of soft ice cream."

The reason Moiya got her picture with the clerk was that no one else had ordered the special that day -- hers was the first order and the day was half over.

I guess Canadians aren't big into the Dairy Queen Canada Day Special Blizzard -- I am not sure if they care all that much about the sprinkles.

The Richard and Miranda Johnson family met the Pillings at the Children's Festival in Salmon Arm.  Our kids came home with 2 beautiful books and a pencil that looks as though it is the trunk of a small tree.

The heat brought everyone back by noon.

Some went to see the fireworks in Sicamous in the evening but a strong wind came up and threatening rain with it.

I am not sure the fireworks happened.

Bonnie and I took a walk up David Pilling's Trail to Sandy Beach to celebrate the day.

Gorgeous.
