Renewing my PO Box

Alice didn't want her picture taken so
we let her take a picture of us.

My post office box number needed to renewed.

This is something regular people do in May.

It is July and the second notice for renewal surfaced so Bonnie, Alice and I took a small drive to Sicamous.

Alice came so that she could spend her tooth fairy money: $5.

"I'd rather stand than lie down on 
 the fake looking grass," says Alice.

Bonnie showed her along the way that a person can shop in three stores before they select the best of all gifts that $5 can buy.

Salt and Vinegar chips was all that was in Alice’s price range in The Corked Bottle, a wind-up white fluffy bunny would have been a good choice for her in Loonies Toonies (the dollar store), but we walked to a third place: Askews.

No salt and vinegar chips there, at least the size that Alice was looking for, so it was back to the Corked Bottle.

Alice checked out the grass at the post office.

She was sure it was artificial because it was so green and even.

She got down low to check it out. Yes, the grass turned out to be real.

Bonnie showed Alice how to stamp a post card and send it to someone from the post office.

The message was “To dad, from Alice.”

He will also see a hand drawn picture of their cat.

Bonnie told Alice that it will be hard not to tell him the secret, that a post card is coming his way. “It is OK if you tell, Alice, and it is also fun if you don’t tell.”

I wouldn’t have thought to give Alice that message.
