Making Crepes in the Dark

... first to get the eggs from the fridge ...
When we went to see Naomi perform as the Cat in the Hat in Seussical: the Musical, we had a combined family sleep-over at Mary’s house: that would be the Brooks Family, Richard and his children and me.

We were all over the house in our beds.

Richard told Betty that since she was awake quite early, she could help him make crepes.

The deal was that they would have to keep the lights off so that they didn’t wake others.

Mary and Leo have a lovely, large kitchen.

... spread out on the counter ...
Still making anything in the dark is hard. And an unfamiliar kitchen adds another element of complexity.

... I know these ingredients off by heart ...
Betty found it was an adventure for the two of them, pulling off a hot breakfast in the morning before the rest of us were barely stirring in our sleep.
