Decorating the tree on which snow falls

Betty and Alice decorated our umbrella tree again, the one on which artificial snow can fall when we turn on a button.

As well, another button will start Christmas music carolling for us

I had to take it apart, since the snow wouldn't come floating out of the top of the tree this weekend.

Really, it was Miranda who got right into the mechanics of the tree and using a q-tip she cleaned out some spider-web like fibres that prevented a good snowfall.

I know that we can't turn it up full volume without getting snow on the floor.  And I also know we can decorate the tree and then redecorate it, depending on how many little treasures I can find that are light enough to hang on the tree.

This darling Santa Fairy in tights has been a favourite of mine for years.  The children like this ornament as well.  I was busy using the glue gun this morning to reapplied  golden wings to his back, and to mend the hands which seems to break off with every time someone drops him and he falls to the floor.

Christmas is coming at our house,  even though we have to finish off Halloween, Remembrance Day and American Thanksgiving first.
