A Humongous Moth

"I don't want to touch that moth."

Which reminds me in passing that Alice found
a small slug on the way down to the beach.
She wanted to stroke its back.
Her mother let her.
Then Alice was busying wiping that
slime off of her finger for a long time.
While she still thinks they are cute,
there won't be any more strokes of love given to them.
There is a moth under this inverted wine glass.  The moth is almost the diameter of the wine glass.

Miranda brought it over from the cabin for us to see.

Then, when it was worn out from trying to escape, she let it go again, not wanting to harm it.

Every day is an incredible day here.

Tonight Alice brought the game of Lost Cities to me, telling me that Miranda was putting Betty to bed, that Bonnie was playing a card game with Michael and that she and I were to have some alone time together.

This was probably Bonnie's solution of divide and conquer.

Alice and I played a simpler version of the game, not one found in the rules.  The miracle of the play is that she learned how to fan her cards and hold them in her left hand before the game was over.

Alice also gets points today for figuring out how to do the Slaker Line.  There is a rope with a ball hanging at the end of it.  Actually two ropes like this at the end that are defeating the kids from making it to the ladder.  She has figured out that the point is to hold onto the rope, rather than the ball.  When she shared that tip with Michael, he could conquer the Slacker Line as well.

We played another game of Handkerchief Tag which I declare as the best game ever.  Betty ran until she laid on the ground with a stomach ache.  In the old days we used to call that getting a stitch in her side.  I shall have to look that up on the Internet.
