Thank you for this video. I watched it last night with surprise, since I had no idea that this had been put together. I had a back pack of memories with each picture since I could tell where I was, who was with me, what had happened just before the picture, what had happened after it was taken. I wanted to call out, hey, stop, hold, let me explain to you why I am holding that book, or that baby, or why I am sitting by that Christmas tree, or why I am deep in an ancient forest with my dear ones, or in the halls of the Alberta Supreme Court. You captured it all.
So I thought I would watch again. That is when a few tears started to fall down my cheeks.
Next I learned how to loop the video but the tears were coming so fast I had to reach for the box of Kleenex.
On the third viewing, I was just sobbing. Used tissues all around me, piling higher and higher.
I am surrounded with so much love from all you. Sometimes I am afraid it is unearned admiration and that my faults will come into view.
But that never happens.
Each of your are my favourite. Thank you.
I am going to give the video a rest for an hour or two and get myself back under control. And then watch it again because it is fascinating to see one's life in this context. To summarize, I got the idea from the video that I have loved all of you and your babies. What a fabulous gift!
It was fun to see themes woven in by those who edited/produced the video. Recurring experiences across people and generations: reading together, fostering love of music, hiking, nature, gardening, cooking for and with others, and listening attentively to children as though what they have to say is as important as what adults have to say (and it is). Oh, and did I mention how beautiful you are? I liked seeing captured a subset of your infinite variety of facial expressions.
Thank you, Bonnie. I felt the same about the themes. Thank you all for collecting pictures of me with your children. I love those pictures. But woe to the person who took a picture of me, still upright, but sound asleep. When I figure out who it was, I will give them extra tasks to do, and then I will go to the prone position to sleep. Yikes. I was reminded of Doral Pilling when I saw that open mouth, with probably a snore coming out. I should be glad that the person there took a picture instead of my trick, to creep up on my dad and then pour a thin stream of water into his mouth. Once I did that and then it exploded back into my face. He just let me pour long enough that he had enough water to turn the trick around.
Thank you again to the film editors and producers.
I loved seeing the credits roll by at the end -- all of the actors. Some jobs were missed, the gaffers, the catering crew, the set locations ... only a film major would want to see all of that. Sit willingly through the 10 minutes while those roll by.

DeleteLOL. It wasn't me who took that photo. I was shocked! =)
