A New Strawberry Patch

David Wood and his grandkids came by with a wheel barrow full of strawberry plants they had thinned out from their own patch.

We planted them in the flower bed in front of Arta's house.

There is lots of room there.

Last year that earth held the wave petunias.

Now there is a species of the wave petunia that you don't have to keep dead heading.

It really works.

Last years ours was pink, called Bubble Gum and they kept blooming no matter how much neglect they got.

It looks like the daffodils in the new strawberry bed are wilting now.

I told Michael it wouldn't be until next year that we'd get any fruit on them.

He told me that even then, the birds would probably steal them and we would get any.

He's probably right.

We will see what a little sun will do.

Right now they are wet and in a good space.

Mary.
